Brighton & Hove City Council have received the Inspector’s Final Report on the Examination of the City Plan Part Two which contains the Inspector’s assessment and recommendations.

The City Plan Part Two seeks to support the implementation and delivery of the City Plan Part One to built on the strategic policy framework, identify and allocate additional development sites and sets out a detailed policy framework to assist in the determination of planning applications. These policies will replace the remaining ‘saved’ policies from the 2005 Local Plan.

The Inspector’s Report concludes that subject to a number of main modifications, the City Plan Part Two is sound, legally compliant and capable of adoption. The Council will now consider the Inspector’s Report and the adoption of the Plan by reporting it to the Tourism, Economy, Culture & Communities Committee on the 15th September 2022, and then at the 20th October Full Council meeting for a final decision.
