Alex began her career as a graduate rural surveyor, where hands on exposure to planning work sparked a growing interest in the discipline. With the benefit of an in-house planning team at the firm, she was able to build on that interest early in her career and transition into a planning-focused role - a direction she has continued to develop ever since.

Now with seven years’ hands-on experience, Alex is dual qualified as AssocRICS and AssocRTPI, combining a strong understanding of rural property with practical planning expertise.

Alex joined Squires Planning in early 2026, bringing with her a well-grounded, pragmatic approach and a reputation for clear, straightforward advice. Her experience spans a broad range of rural projects across the South East - from new farm infrastructure and equestrian development to farm diversification, whole farmyard redevelopments and residential-led schemes.

Building on this rural foundation, Alex is now applying her skillset to an increasingly diverse portfolio, including projects within urban environments. Alongside leading her own instructions, she works closely with the Directors and wider team to coordinate inputs, keep projects moving efficiently and maintain high standards of delivery.

What Alex enjoys most about her role

The variety. No two projects (or days) are the same. She values the opportunity to spend time on site as much as in the office, and particularly enjoys identifying clear, workable strategies that help clients move forward with confidence.

What Alex brings to the team

Seven years of hands-on experience, dual professional qualifications, and a practical understanding of how land, policy and real-world objectives intersect. She combines attention to detail with a calm, solutions-focused mindset.

Looking ahead

Alex is excited to continue broadening her portfolio, working on increasingly varied projects and collaborating across disciplines to deliver thoughtful, commercially aware planning outcomes.

Outside of work

When she’s not navigating planning policy, Alex is usually outdoors with her young daughter, riding horses or watching the cricket. Sport has always played a big role, whether competing or supporting from the sidelines.
