Following the public examination of the Maidstone Borough Council Local Plan Review, the local authority have published the proposed Main Modifications for public consultation. This is a typical part of the Local Plan review process whereby the Inspector proposes tweaks to the Plan to ensure that it meets the four tests of soundness, and to ensure that the local authority have prepared the plan in accordance with the legal and procedural requirements.

The consultation opened on 29 September and will end on 13 November. The consultation will only be on the Inspector’s proposed Main Modifications, and not the Local Plan as a whole. Following the consultation, the Council will submit all comments to the Planning Inspector who will consider them.

All consultation documents can be found on the Council’s website at https://localplan.maidstone.gov.uk/home/local-plan-review-examination.
