Winchester City Council have opened a consultation on their regulation 18 emerging Local Plan, which is live and running between the 2nd November to the 14th December 2022 and is open to all residents, businesses and organisations to comment on.
The draft plan sets out Winchester’s vision for future development across the district for the areas outside of the South Downs National Park. It seeks to respond to issues and challenges that the district faces including from new development and affordable housing, climate change, the natural and historic environment and sustainable transport by including new policies that development would need to comply with. It also includes strategic site allocations which, if included in the adopted Local Plan, would be promoted in the plan for residential development.
The purpose of the consultation is to gain feedback on the policies and supporting text from key stakeholders in the district to see how the plan can evolve to better reflect the needs of the community.
The draft Local Plan and supporting documents, and the consultation can be found on Winchester City Council’s website at https://www.localplan.winchester.gov.uk/home.
If you are a resident, business, organisation or town/parish council and are considering responding to the consultation, or you have a project in Winchester, give our team a call to see how we can help.
